Overview

Manaus is hiring for a temporary, contracted, Research Associate position to join our team in the execution of a Latin American market assessment and program evaluation project with a multilateral client.We are looking for an individual that can effectively conduct research, analysis, and logistics management. The individual will have experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research, in-depth data analysis, and supporting project logistics. This is a temporary contracted position starting on April 01, 2022 for a total of 275 hours over four months. The selected individual will have the ability to work in PST, MST, CST, or EST time zones (either in or out of the US) and will be available to work between 10 - 40 hours per week.

Position Description:

The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research and in-depth analysis with a focus on the Latin American supermarket sector. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research; 

  • Support the development and dissemination of research instruments, including consumer surveys, stakeholder questionnaires, and focus group discussions, among others;

  • Lead interviews with key project stakeholders in English and Spanish;

  • Support data mining, cleaning, and statistical analysis, as needed; and

  • Prepare compelling final reports on key evaluation findings.

Qualifications

The Project Manager should meet the following qualifications:

  • Education. Bachelor degree (required) and Master degree (preferred) in international development, economics, business, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience. At least 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in research and data analysis, preferably in international development and/or development finance. International field experience is preferred.

  • Research Experience. Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research projects and preparing comprehensive research reports. Ability to extract information from relevant research and sources to evaluate their relevance for different audiences. Previous work in qualitative and/or quantitative evaluations and experience with statistical analysis and software such as STATA or R is a plus.

  • Deliverable Development: Experience with report-building and presentation development. Excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to create client-ready products including basic visual best practices. Strong attention to detail is a must. Basic knowledge of graphic design best practices for reports and presentations is a plus

  • Adaptability & Flexibility. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the needs of the project and team. Proactivity and attention to detail are critical. Must be flexible to take calls in different domestic and international time zones, as needed.  

  • Language Skills. Advanced written and oral fluency in English and Spanish (required); Professional proficiency in Portuguese, and/or French (desired)
